The Holy Grail of DS blu raysThis is the rarest blu ray in existence, its very unfortunate as it is the best English friendly version of the Leopard on the western market. It has the best transfer and exclusive extras, yet it cannot be found anywhere. It was a stroke of luck that I came across this blu ray at at JBHIFI, I had to get it transferred from a small JBHIFI in WA. Why? Rumours exploded speculating that the title was pulled from distribution due to the transfer they used; the Martin Scorsese transfer. Still all speculations, nothing solid. Did Scorsese give Madman the approval to use it? Its so so sad because its the most beautiful transfer of the film over towering the Criterion and BFI one. To begin the colours are extremely vibrant, much richer than the washed out ones used on previous releases. The DVD release is till available but the Blu ray mysteriously disappeared, we still recommend you pick up the DVD as it is still a masterpiece. Madman has done a fantastic job one both releases, but if you by luck happen to stumble across a copy in an OP Shop, don't hesistate to snatch it up. As it is quite possibly one of Madman's finest releases.

After searching for years, I picked up an as-new copy in Lawson's Records in Sydney earlier this year (2017) for 15 bucks. It is indeed a thing of ravishing beauty.
