Author: K Quach The new Hellsing episodes are much welcomed to fans of the series. We have been teased these final episodes and the good new is...its finally here! The series was hyped up by trailers over the past year and really did create true anticipation. The first trailer features scenes of Integra; and Alucard in his androgynous "Girlycard" form. A second trailer was presented at Comic Con late 2011 which features a brief memory of 'old Walter', being replaced by 'dark Walter', who is shown in battle against Alucard, as well as him returning to his 14-year-old appearance after being punched by Girlycard. Integra, Seras, Major, Shrodinger, Luke Valentine, Doc, and Alucard are momentarily shown, as well as a descending Deus Ex Machina, expelling ample supplies of smoke. The trailer concludes with a scene of Alucard transformed into Girlycard. The third and final trailer was released early 2012, and incorporates substantially more animation into the presentation. More scenes of Seras, Walter, Integra, the Major and Doc, Schrodinger, Heinkel, and the Captain are mostly repeated from the second trailer, and Anderson's death scene from trailer one. The trailer finishes when Alucard crushes Anderson's heart along with Helena's Nail. As Seras continues to battle The Captain she is surprised to find that because Seras "fed" on Pip Bernadotte she can still communicate with him. As The Captain dies, Integra Hellsing arrives at Deus Ex Machina's War room where The Major is waiting for her. The epsiodes thankfully did managed to capture the intensity of the trailer. So you may be asking, what the hell is Hellsing if you've never seen the series, ok I'll do a recap. In a nutshell Hellsing Ultimate starts in the past, ten years ago. Integra Hellsing's uncle, Richard Hellsing, jealous of his niece becoming the head of the Hellsing organization, and hunts her down, attempting to kill her. Integra, fearing for her life, flees to the bottom of the Hellsing mansion, where her "salvation" is. Richard and two other men follow her down there, and in an attempt to kill her by shooting her in the shoulder, accidentally awakens Alucard, who then proceedes to kill Richard's men. Integra is now the last remaining descendant of the Hellsing bloodline. In present day England, Alucard is called to duty to eradicate a vampire and his ghouls. After around eight brilliant episodes, the ninth one pick up here. Integra tries to shoot him, but the Major has installed a glass case that is strong enough to withstand Integra's bullets. The Major turns on the War room's television and tells Integra to watch as Alucard absorbs the blood of all those who died in London. Unbeknownst to Alucard, Schrödinger purposefully decapitates himself with an SS knifes and then lets himself fall into the blood that Alucard is drawing and absorbing into himself. Walter launches one last attack on Alucard, but in the end is too late and then Alucard grabs Walter and later insults him and Alexander Anderson for their Failures to kill him. But now that he is consumed by Alucard and is mixed with millions of other minds, he can no longer recognize himself, and by extension neither can Alucard. Alucard says goodbye to Integra and then completely disappears. The gothic atmosphere remains here with a dark animation style that draws you into its truly twisted world of vampires. Walter stares and laughs at Alucard's defeat but shortly after he's sniped and shot by Heinkel Wolfe from atop a building further away, in retaliation for killing Yumie. She gladly obliges, but Walter soon seems to have a change of heart, and after casually depriving Heinkel of an arm and a leg, Walter walks over to the Deus Ex Machina. Seras begins to shoot The Major's glass case with the Harkonnen, but when that doesn't work she rips a huge cannon from the Deus Ex Machina's side and shots the glass case around The Major, completely blowing off his left side and revealing The Major to actually be a cyborg. In the end, The Major manages to shoot Integra's left eye, but Integra succeeds in killing him. After a heated argument Doc is killed by a support beam falling from the wreckage of the zeppelin, and Walter bids farewell to Integra as Alucard had done, and at last, as an image of his aged human body is depicted, smiling and relaxed, he is engulfed by the fires of the zeppelin. Overall these final episodes really do add closure to an intense horror driven unique anime series, by all means pick it up, it is highly entertaining. Overall 4/5
